Facilities: Computing in the Library

The Information Commons
If your work requires that you use a computer, the library provides several options. The Information Commons, located on the main floor of the library [Find It], is a networked computing lab with more than 100 computers. The facility includes a scanner and networked laser printers. Outside users visiting NJIT to do legitimate research may request a guest login and password to use the computing lab, but the NJIT community has priority at all times. Library Information Training Room (CAB 1050) serves as an extension of the Information Commons when not in use for training.
The Information Commons has PCs and Sun workstations running much of the software used in courses. Please refer to the policy for computer use in the library http://library.njit.edu/aboutus/policies/computer-use.php for more information on the Information Commons, and the New Accounts homepage http://newaccount.njit.edu if you need to set up an account. Please refer to the Library Policy For Issuing Guest Computer Accounts http://library.njit.edu/aboutus/policies/computer-use-for-guests.php if you are visiting NJIT.
The library also has a wireless network and has wireless LAN cards at the circulation desk. For more information on our wireless network check http://library1.njit.edu/announcements/2002-002.html.
