Getting Started

The library offers many collections, services and facilities to our users. In some cases you will need a library barcode, a UCID and password or both to access to these services and collections.
Anybody holding a validated NJIT ID card may borrow materials from the library, but you will first need to apply at the circulation desk for a library barcode sticker. This barcode number will allow you to borrow a book, or reserve or order one online from another library through the Interlibrary Loan program accessible from the library homepage.
You never need a password to search the catalog for a book, but you will encounter a login screen asking for your UCID and password when you try to access many of the databases and journals from off-campus. To create a UCID go to http://directory.njit.edu/. If you have trouble with your logon contact the Computing Services Division (http://csd.njit.edu).
If you are new to NJIT, please visit our Getting Started page ( http://library1.njit.edu/getting-started/) and view the documents relevant to the type of user that you are. Please visit the Architecture Library getting started page (http://library1.njit.edu/archlib/aboutus/04archlibguide.pdf)
