PLAGIARISM

Using or attempting to use written, oral, or graphic work which was authored or prepared by another and submitting it as one's own.

Examples: submitting a paper copied from a friend's work; purchasing a paper from a term-paper writing company or downloading a paper from the internet; quoting words or paraphrasing ideas without properly footnoting and referencing the source; modifying a paper written by someone else; handing in homework copied from someone else's work.
